The Big Day

Brook woke me up with a sharp poking on my shoulder a little after 5am today (Friday, June 13). She was pretty sure she was having contractions and we were getting up in 30 min. anyway so she laid there while I got ready while Brook tried to relax. Connor woke up, of course, a little before 6 to join us on the couch while we waited to leave for the hospital.

7:00am - Arrived at the hospital and checked in....nurses were waiting for us!
7:45am - Contractions consistent but still minor in strength. Started pitocin ----that's a nice way of trying to remind the little baby it's time to get uncomfortable.
8:35am - Doctor broke her bag of water. Contractions getting stronger and consistent.
9:40am - Finally figured out how to connect to the internet (important part of the birthing process!). Contractions getting stronger but....still waiting. Anesthesia is coming..... More to come.....
10:00am - Epidural went in - drugs are great!
10:45am - 5cm.....making progress
11:15am - Brook is taking a nap. Nurse says this will be a lunch-time baby. Contractions getting longer but shallower in strength.
